PLEASE !!!!

Help !!!! Can someone tell me......?
Contact your local or state dental association and and see if there are any dentists who provide free or reduced cost care for low-income, disabled or senior patients.

Call your local health department and ask about health centers that provide dental care for free or on a sliding scale.

Your local United Way may also be aware of such a clinic. In some areas, you can reach them now by dialing 2-1-1 for "non-emergency information."

Go to a dental school, if there is one near you, for reduced costs.

Check http://www.toothwoman.net to see if low-cost or free dental services are available near you.

Check http://bphc.hrsa.gov and choose "Find a Health Center" to see if there is a low-cost clinic near you.

Check http://www.nfdh.org/DDS.html to see if your state has a "Donated Dental Services" program. D.D.S. is designed to locate dentists who will give free care to patients who are financially compromised due to medical problems. This is a process that will take a couple of months to get your information and then arrange for someone to see you. Not all states have D.D.S. programs.
Reply:Contact local Red Cross for info.
Reply:Call the Gwinnett Co. board of health
Reply:I didnt even know such a place existed! I feel for you though, I went through hell with my teeth after I got pregnant.

Good luck to you.
Reply:you can try the dental school that is around your area. They will see you and its not very expensive.
Reply:i agree with the second answer

Call the Gwinnett Co. board of health
Reply:County health Department that should help
Reply:it figures another out of work spick looking for free health care. Why don't you pop out a couple of babies while you at it, you might as well you sound like you are destine for welfare anyways. W H O R E !!!

Abscessed tooth pulled, still hurts terribly, is it still infected?

I wen to a free dental clinic, with a sore tooth (rear bottom molar). I told the dentist I thought it might be infected, as I could taste a nasty pus, He x-rayed it and pulled an abscessed tooth on Feb 10th. I asked both the dentist and his assistant if I should be on antibiotics. They both said no, with the tooth gone, the infection was gone.

Since then, the nasty taste has gotten worse, and there is now a slimy, nasty white-ish stuff on my gum and cheek where the tooth was. And it hurts as bad as it did before the tooth was pulled. Should I be concerned? And should I call my family doctor and ask for a prescription for an antibiotic?

Thanks

Abscessed tooth pulled, still hurts terribly, is it still infected?
sounds like your dentist is not to bright. You never have an infection in your mouth that just goes away. they always put you on an antibiotic . Call your doctor and have him give you an RX ...he will tell you that if the pain doesn't go away in 24 hours...he needs to see you..b/cause an infection in your mouth is a BIG deal.!! do this first thing in the morning..Take Advil tonight and try putting a couple folded damp Kleenex in you mouth where it hurts...some times this will sooth the pain..you can kind of bite down softly on it. good luck...don't wait on this. ♥ p.s. if you can't get into see your doctor go to one of the well care centers or whatever you have near your home.
Reply:Yes, call the clinic or your family doctor for antibiotics. It should have gotten better, not worse.
Reply:Sounds to me like you may need an antibiotic. Go see your regular doctor and get an antibiotic right away. The infection does not go away unless you treat it even "if" the tooth is gone, The gums were still infected. You may also have a "dry socket". My sister had that. Try calling the dentist and if he will not give you an antibiotic go to a clinic where you can get an antibiotic because the infection from teeth and gums can spread to other areas of your body. Good luck!
Reply:An abcess can be very stubborn. It sounds to me like the abcess is still in the gum and jaw and you do need to see your family doctor. In the meantime, rinse your mouth out several times a day with warm very salty water. This will help keep the area clean, help with the pain.
Reply:"Most" of the time you don't need the antibiotics for the extraction mostly root canals. It is normal to experience soreness after the extraction, but it could be a dry socket, did you smoke, drink through a stray, eat something with seeds in it? If so, you need to call the dentist so he can clean out the infected are, do it tomorrow because it will get worse.

Does any dear preggie here has heartburn and empty stomach all the time.i m 6weeks?

any help is appreciated.

Does any dear preggie here has heartburn and empty stomach all the time.i m 6weeks?
Don't stop eating. Eat foods that have nutrition and suit you. Nuts, cereals, eggs, fruits like apples etc. Don't give u p carbs - they are essential for energy. if you are not allergic to milk drink some cold milk. You and your baby need the nutrition. ask your doctor for a good and suitable heartburn medicine. When you get in the morning eat dry toast, that will help you with the heartburn. you are not overweight, you will be putting on about 10 kgs (22 pounds approx), and it will take some to lose. This fat is needed fro breast feeding and other purposes. Eat smart, eat plenty do not diet. Your weight is absolutely correct. and listen eat what you love, because you'll be satisfied, and that's important

I have been there, done that!

Take care and congrats about your baby.
Reply:I've experienced that. i was in modeling career before. i got pregnant when i was 19. i ate a lot same as you. its okay to eat but think of your figure. you will ruin it. its okay to eat a lot but minimize your carbo and meats. more on veggies and fruits. avoid sweets(chocolate, ice cream and candies) and softdrinks(cola)and very cold drinks. do some exercise. its normal to gain weight bcoz u r not alone now. you have your angel in your tummy. so take care and congratulation.
Reply:if your eating healthy food rather then sweets ur gaining healthy weight which means u'll most probably take the weight off easily. not everyone craves sweets during pregnant, i didn't have any cravings at all during my craving part at hte beginning of my pregnancy. so i wudn't worry, and since ur only 6weeks u still have plenty of time to start craving i mean really the embreyo has only just depveloped into a human looking creature.
Reply:hi,when i was pregnant i always has heartburn in the last two months,i probablt only ate rennies heartburn tablets, orange juice was big no no for me beacause of the citric acid,i had no cravings really at at all only for two days all i could think about were apple turn overs.i actually only put on what the baby weighed and maybe lost a bit myself, just try to refrain from eating too much i did not eat for two as thay say,but i by no means starved just ate what i normally i know its hard
Reply:well my best advice for this is to try eating less at your meals... just eat more freq. i felt the same way during my pregancy and i gained 60 lbs... not good! that last 10 is a pain to get off lol... try going to babycenter.com and they have a lot of recipes for eating and good advice on heart burn and things you could eat to help! good luck!
Reply:The trick to having less heartburn/indigestion while you are pregnant is to eat more frequent smaller meals.

If you are still having indigestion...try using an all natural antacid. One with no aluminum, magnesium or calcium. I know tums is popular for it's extra calcium..but what most people don't know is that the calcium causes acid reflux....and that's often worse feeling than the original heartburn was.

The only fda approved all-natural antacid I know of is Brioschi. It worked well for me when I was pregnant.

We need some help with our work schedule?

I work in a very busy dental clinic for kids. Recently at a meeting, we ( the assistants) would like to come up with a schedule so that we ( all 8 assistants ) would not have to work late everyday and still be able to get our 40 hours per week. Our hours of business are monday and wed 9a.m. to 8 p.m tues and thurs 10 a.m to 8 p.m. and Fri 9a.m. to 5 p.m. in order to come up with a scheduled that works we have to have 1 assistant per column. There are 7 columns on our schedule. Anyone out there willing to figure out this puzzle? We'd really appreciate it.

We need some help with our work schedule?
I'm sure I can come up with something, but I need a bit of clarification. I can get the 5 days per week, but what do you mean by 7 columns?

Implant vs. retreat Root canal?

It seems that root canal i had done 3 weeks ago has not healed completely because i have still tenderness under the gum of the tooth and a small abscess there. My dentist says to wait another week or so because it *may* heal up. So assuming I need a retreat, it would cost about 1000$.

The thing is, am planning to be in India for expended time starting in about 8 weeks time. I was planning to have the crown extension that is need and new crown work done in a very good dental clinic in New Delhi.

So I'm think just get the tooth pulled, and go for an implant in Delhi, that will cost 900 + 300 for the crown rather than take a chance with an expensive retreat. I could wait 8 weeks and get the retreat done then (they offer laser root canal) but i have some discomfort that i wish would go away.

What should i do in this situation?

Implant vs. retreat Root canal?
Go with the implant and it's more likely you'll never have problems with that tooth again.

Help! My husband and I have a friend that won't help himself better himself .?

Our friend lived with his mom. She treated him like a baby. She died, unexpectedly. He moved up here by us and our other friend. We have tried to help him better himself, by suggesting he go to a dentist(we even found a free dental clinic; he refused to go). Our other friend is trying to have him set up a budget. He does have a job, so there's no problem there. Maybe if he saw his and people's suggestions, he would be able to listen to our suggestions. We aren't trying to run his life; just try to help him. No snide remarks please.

you can not make someone "better them self" no matter what you do. whose to say that he can't live his life the way he wants to?
Reply:The sad truth is...there is nothing you can do to help someone that doesn't wanna be helped.

He won't change for you, he can only change for himself.
Reply:Just keep encouraging him. You've got to make sure you don't actively interfere. If he's content with himself as he is, then you should leave him be.

You've made offers of help and he's rejected them. I think it's time for you to wait for him to ask for your help. He may even end up doing these things on his own.
Reply:He is a grown man,and no one can make him grow up.Sounds like he has it easy, he lets his friends do his worrying for him.I wouldn't try too hard if I were you, he needs to stand on his own two feet. And personal hygiene is his matter. You sound like a good friend, don't get used out of the deal....They have to want to change to really do anything about it...

Fix a receding gumline?

I have a gumline that has receded in the bottom back of my mouth in the very back. One large tooth was extracted 10 years ago and recession took place in the gap by the next tooth. I go to a University dental clinic and they say there is nothing that can be done at this point . I will probably get a second opinion.. The recession has exposed some of the lower portion (below the nerve line) of the next tooth and causes pain with hot/cold senstaion. Can some sort of amalgam be used to cover the lower portion of this next tooth to prevent sensations? Any advice will be helpfull.Thanks.

Take Care!
Reply:Nope, once it's down, it stays down. There is no way to make it return to where it was. The only thing you can do is make sure it doesn't go any further by flossing and brushing well. Mine have been like that for over 5 years and I have tried to get a dentist to help. There is no way. Sorry!!!

Any dentist do 1 day implant - heard of NobelDirect implant before?

I was asking questions about implant then I was searching the internet for more information then I found this site and I was so shocked.

http://www.silomdental.com/oneday_implan...

The actual implant product is NobelDirect and that dental clinic is in Thailand. Then I try to find any dentist who will use this in the US but I was so shocked that there is none.

Anybody know if there's any dentist use that and anyone know if this type of implant is good? I checked out the testimonial and it seems there're people went there to do implant and it's $1700US for 1 single implant. Is it cheaper than the implant in US?

This is not kidding?

Any dentist do 1 day implant - heard of NobelDirect implant before?
When you get "immediate load" implants, the implant abutment is fitted with a temporary crown, so you have visible teeth right away. You will still need to have a permanent crown made.

Personally, I would consider immediate load only in the most extreme situations. "Traditional" implant success rates are now in the 98% range. Immediate load implant success rates are still something like only 80-85%. That's not good enough for MY mouth, so I don't recommend it to my patients.

GO TO THIS SITE TO LEARN MORE
Reply:i looked at the information on the websites, the only thing that makes me a little hesitant about this implant is that when a crown is fabricated to go over an implant the actual abutment is used to make the crown so there is the best fit possible, in this type of implant the dentist would have to take an impression of the abutment to sent to the lab. i don't think i would fool with it.
Reply:I do not understand why were you shocked to learn about the one day dental implants. Perhaps you started asking questions without first surfing the internet and doing your ground work. Otherwise it would have been just a pleasant surprise for you. Similarly, in a little bit of surfing you have declared no dentist in America is doing one day implants. This is highly unqualified statement.

The patients with healthy jawbone can only be considered good candidate for same day dental implants. You would do well to also make internet search for same day dental implants, teeth implants, immediate dental implants, and so on. With respect to prices, make more searches (make sure your shock absorbers are working this time) in Singapore, Ireland, Poland, India, Dubai, etc. where you may find very attractive prices. Good luck.
Reply:Dental implant surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her dental implants and lasik surgery in India by a company called Forerunners Healthcare. The Price for dental and lasik surgery is very less in India. She paid 25% of the price she was quoted in America.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India They arrange Dental surgery, jaw surgery, lasik eye surgery, Dental Implants etc for foreign patients in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines- about their patient stories.

They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low cost, as dental and eye surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Home business ideas???

I am a mother of 4 (all under age 3), I work full time in a dental clinic, and would like ideas of a business I could start from home in my spare time. I don't have much for capitol. I can't afford to quit working to focus on a home business untill it can support us. I live in a dumpy, rented singlewide trailer, so it isn't really appropriate for customers/clients to come to. I have a computer and have taken a couple classes in business management, I just can't decide which business would be best for me. It has been suggested that I start a website based retail business through dropshippers, then I could just process orders in the evenings. That sounds very appealing to me, but there are 2 questions in my head regarding this idea: #1. What to sell. #2. How do I keep my website from getting lost on the www?

Home business ideas???
This affiliate program might be a great home business idea for you. It costs nothing to get started. They give you your own website, to sell the products and services, at no cost to you. You can work this on-line or off-line and build a nice residual income.

I retired last year and wanted something to do from home that also created extra income. I became an affiliate with Valley Telco. The opportunity is free and it is working for me. Simply click on the opportunity link on the following site for more info. http://www.valleytelco.com

I had one filling on NHS cost £43.60 How much private?

I luckily found an NHS dentist but recently had a filling., just the one , took about 15 minutes. How is the price of £43.60 justified? We do have an emergency dental clinic here which charges £15.20 if it is an extraction or filling. How can the NHS charge that amount and what would it have cost privately?

I had one filling on NHS cost £43.60 How much private?
They've changed it fairly recently so that there are three different bands of payment - the first one is around £15 and includes things like cleanings, check-ups and routine x-rays. If you need any fillings, you go into the second band which is £43 - it doesn't matter whether you need 1 filling or 5 fillings, you'll still pay the same. And then the third price bracket is about £125 and that's if you need things like root canals, crowns, bridges etc.

If you'd gone private, the initial consultation and check-up with x-rays would have cost you around £45 minimum. Then for the filling, depending on the size, you'd be looking at between about £75 and £150.
Reply:Even tho it is a NHS dentist sometimes you have to pay private, because they cant get the funding, thats the same with my dentist its NHS (ie) free for thos under 16 and on benifits, but every day people such as me and you have to pay private prices !!
Reply:Holey moely that's expensive. I had 2 amalgum fillings and one composite done last year on the NHS, and I paid £33 for the lost. You have been ripped off by the sound of it.
Reply:That sounds like a private dentists charges for certain! NHS is usually between 7 - 15 pounds.
Reply:there should be a poster up in the reception telling you the three price bands.1 is £15.20. 2 is £43.60, 3 is £100+,depending on the work.my wife just had a clean,2 fillings and a crown stuck back on for £43.60 !
Reply:The moment you see the dentist, in a private practise, the consultation begins, the moment he peers into your mouth the fees have doubled.

He put fingers or instruments into your mouth fees have trebled.

If there are x-rays to be taken additional fees.

Should you have treatment eg a filling you would be lucky to see any change out of £250.00 at least.
Reply:Yes, Ł15.90 is for emergency dental treatment (extraction up to 2 teeth,

1 permanent filling etc.), or for initial dental examination, x-rays, teeth cleaning. It is called Band 1. Fillings - no matter, how many - raise up the price to Ł43.60, which is Band 2. If any crowns, bridges, dentures are needed, this is Band 3 - about Ł190, I don't remeber how much exactly.

The above are the NHS fees.

Reply:I don't know. what kind of question is this? Im not the kids parents. ask them.
Reply:His parents probably can't afford.........
Reply:maybe his parents are trying to save the money for his college.

going to the dentist is a lot of money in these times you know.

My 19 month old baby has milk botte tooth decay on his four upper front teeth..can he have tooth fillings?

around how much will it cost?? any recommendations on which dental clinic should i bring him???

My 19 month old baby has milk botte tooth decay on his four upper front teeth..can he have tooth fillings?
Yes your child can have tooth fillings. It also depends on the severity of the decay. I am not too sure about the pricing but it costs less than normal fillings and it can last for up to 10years.

Baby bottle tooth decay occurs when a child's teeth are exposed to sugary liquids, such as formula, fruit juices, and other sweetened liquids for a continuous, extended period of time. The practice of putting a baby to bed with a bottle, which the baby can suck on for hours, is the major cause of this dental condition. The sugary liquid flows over the baby's upper front teeth and dissolves the enamel, causing decay that can lead to infection. The longer the practice continues, the greater the damage to the baby's teeth and mouth.

PLEASE BRING YOUR BABY TO THE DENTIST!

f you think that baby teeth are not important because they will soon be replaced by more permanent ones, you are wrong.

Baby teeth help to keep a space in the jaw for adult teeth. If a baby tooth is lost too early, the tooth beside it may shift into the empty space so that when the time comes for the adult tooth to emerge, there may not be enough room. This can result in crooked or crowded teeth.

Baby teeth are also important in helping the baby learn how to speak and talk properly. And of course, healthy-looking teeth are a tremendous boost to a child's self-confidence and self-esteem.

The treatment options for Baby Bottle Tooth Decay vary depending on how serious the condition is. Discuss with the dentist what the best management option for your child is

Hope the link helps.
Reply:he will lose those teeth anyway
Reply:ask your doctor.
Reply:I don't think they will fill them. My niece had the same thing because her mother always put her to bed at night with a bottle of milk. She ended up having to have nine teeth pulled by the time she was 7 years old.
Reply:No point. The teeth will fall out anyways.
Reply:i'm not sure if he could or not, but i wouldn't reccommend it. he's going to loose those baby teeth anyways. why subject your son to the tortures of the dentist and everything?
Reply:yes in fact i strongly reccomend it because the fillings will fall out when their adult teeth come in but if you leave the decay they will just continue to decay.
Reply:when the teeth are decayed that bad the dentist will usually put silver caps on them
Reply:Don't get him a filling...They're going to fall out and you're going to be wasting your money. See if there is anything temporary that they can do for him.
Reply:He can and should have fillings, but depending on the decay they may need crowns. If you leave the decay, they may "fall out anyway" but they will fall out too early and cause his permanent teeth to drift and grow in in the wrong areas or crooked. Also it will cause him a lot of pain. They won't be falling out naturally until he is at least 6 years old so getting them fixed would be a good investment. I'm not sure about the cost but for adults it can start around $50 for a filling. If you are looking for a less expensive clinic, you can see if there is a dental school in your area. They usually have discounted prices.
Reply:Adeline had a lot of great information. You really need to have your child see the dentist. yes, his teeth will fall out, but not until he is about 5 or 6 years old. You can't let your baby go with untreated decay for that amount of time. Also, don't be tempted to just have them removed. Baby teeth maintain space for adult teeth. Missing teeth at this early in childhood with drastically effect the space left for adult teeth to come in. Also, a child missing his front teeth while he learning to talk WILL impact speech development.

I don't know of any dentist that would recommend removing these teeth. Treatment would range anywhere from fillings or stainless steel caps, depending on the severity of the decay.
Reply:#1. TAKE HIM TO PEDIATRIC DENTIST.

#2. DO NOT GIVE HIM ANYTHING BUT WATER IN A BATTLE AT NIGHT-OTHERWISE BOTTLE CARIES WILL CAUSE HIS TEETH TO BE EXTRACTED.

#3. ONLY THE DENTIST WHO SEES YOUR SON CAN DETERMINE IF THOSE TEETH NEED FILLINGS.

Reply:1-800-DENTURES is the number for a chain of dental clinics, called Affordable Dentures, specializing in extractions and "false" teeth. They make partial or full dentures. There are many facilities across the country. If you call the number, they can tell you the one closest to you. Most don't require an appointment, can make you a set of teeth in one day (if you time it right), and offer different "packages" based on price. That way, you could go with a cheaper or more expensive set.

It must be something that you eat or drink, that doesn't get digested properly , though no immediate health problems, except for the breath...

Just isolate each item , keeping a keen watch, not leaving out even coffee or tea, one at a time for say 3 or 4 days atleast and notice any improvement, to catch the possible culprit.

Best wishes.
Reply:the osour migh be comming up from your tummy, when i get a bit constipated or a saw tummy my fiancee says i get death breath. it might be woth getting ur tummy checked

chewing parsley is good also
Reply:carry a breath mint with you at all times; like the new ones that help ur breath for 12 hours or something like that they work really well
Reply:Make sure you floss twice a day. And also use a tongue scraper to get all that yakee stuff off your tongue. The most bacteria in our mouth are on the tounge and the can cause bad breath. Drink some green tee in the morning. Your bad breath can also come from inside. When was your last medical exam? If nothing helps buy yourself a bad breath spray at walgreens.
Reply:there could be many reasons...if you've got digestion problems, it does make ur breath stink. get that checked. you could eat a few pieces of ginger with salt to clean up ur stomach.

second, make sure u clean ur tongue. it shouldn't look white or yellow. that too makes ur breath stink.
Reply:don't ignore the foods you eat. it may be the cause of your badbreath. try eating cirtrus foods like oranges and drink plenty of water. avoid foods with lots of onions and garlic.

if you really want more answers to your problem, try to check this site: http://www.myLot.com?ref=miyara

i know you'll overcome that. good luck!
Reply:i think you are not drinking enough water soemtimes lack of water results in bad breathe

my son refused to drink water and loved soda drinks

but after some forceful he started 8 glasses per day now his mouth doesnot smell

secondly get ur thyroid glands checked to get ur rate of metabolism checked

all the best
Reply:Hi your bad breath could be a symptom of another medical problem, for expel constipation. Why don't you go and see your Doctor for a check up to rule out any other conditions. In the meantime chew parsley.
Reply:orange juice is suppose to be good for breath i heard...
Reply:Check with your MD, it might be something gastric or the foods u eat. They should be able to help u since it is not coming from your mouth.

I have a toothache and I need med attn soon. I live in monmouth county, new jersey. I have been to the dental clinic but they need money up front. does anyone know if any emergency rooms treat an infected tooth? by the way i have no insurance.

Do anyone know any er's in central jersey treat a toothache?
Have you tried your local health department?
Reply:Call around to different dentist who will take payments. Believe or not some of them do have compassion. If you have swelling in your face the ER may see you and give you a script for pain and antibiotic until you can see a dentist.

Is it okay to give a guy my number?

I went to this free dental clinic last week to get a tooth worked on. I've been there a few times before and the last couple times, I've noticed this really cute guy. We've never talked but when I went in last week, I think I noticed him smiling at me. I was thinking about going back in when I know he'd be there and giving him a little note that says that I saw him there and just wanted to let him know I thought he was good looking and if he ever wanted to talk or hang out and get to know eachother better then to give me a call and then I told him my name and age and gave him my number in the note. I haven't taken the note by (obviously) but I'm debating on whether I should or not when he'll be there next. I've heard that saying "Nothing ventured, nothing gained" but I don't want to come across as desperate but I've heard guys also say that they're flattered when a girl does something like that. Should I do it or shouldn't I?

Is it okay to give a guy my number?
ya go ahead theres a first for everything so even if you screw up this time or it doesnt work out as planned at least you can say you tried and you wont live with the regret.. it also gets the weight off your sholder.. especially if you like him and you think hes cute.. but I would suggest asking if he has a gf first or start making small chat so it doesnt come accross as sudden.. but if hes been flirting with you and making alot of eyecontact and smiling then ya like you said he definatly notices you so on the other hand it wouldnt be all awkward.. I say go for it! I would.. definatly dont want to miss out on the possiblities.. go for it just do it with out thinking and overanalyizing and once you do it dont think about it aftward and start regretting it just move on and let time do its thing.. you know cause the more you analize it the more you will get all worked up about it and stuff so just like i said do it lol!

Best of wishes kesha..

ooh and let me know how it goes kk!

Reply:Do it!
Reply:yeah dont worry
Reply:hey what can u loose? go for it. the worst that can happen is he wont call you. and who cares if he doesnt? you tried and if u dont u mite always wonder what woulda happend if u had
Reply:Ok well I think this is good, I'm always for a girl with some initiative, but you have find a decent reason to go back to the dentist. Like, go for a followup or something, or a cleaning, but if not then just say you're stopping by or whatever. I really don't know, but you don't want to go in there looking like you went there just to give the guy your number. But I appreciate your boldness, good luck.
Reply:Yea it is ok
Reply:I would give him your cell number only, with a note saying Give me a call if you have some time.

Don't go into the good looking deal.
Reply:If you want him to call you its okay, otherwise no

My puppy is loosing her baby teeth, but her breath is HORRIBLE!!! advice?

ok, i work in a dental clinic, and i've never smelled breath this bad!!! i brush her teeth regularly, but its not making a difference. she doesn't eat her own poo, so thats not it. i pick up her poo right after she does it. but this breath is a 10 out of 10 on the stink scale! is it because she's loosing her baby teeth?

My puppy is loosing her baby teeth, but her breath is HORRIBLE!!! advice?
Our Papillon just went thru the same thing. The best thing we found was a spearmint favored rope by Fresh %26amp; Floss at Petco. The good thing is that it comes in different sizes so it will work no matter the dog. Give it a try.
Reply:dog breath mints-no joke
Reply:sounds like she has lost her puppy breath also. buy some of those breath cleaning hard bisquits for dogs, that might help.
Reply:You should ask your vet for some doggy breath freshener. There are mint treats that you can give them also. But I would ask the vet. Good luck!
Reply:go buy everything that helps your dogs breath
Reply:Ah bless her, she can't help it. Its not her teeth, or lack of ha ha thats causing the bad breath, its her diet - what are you feeding her? I can bet she's very ' windy ' too eh? Give her charcoal ( black ) biscuits to munch on, they'll get rid of the wind and the badness thats causing the bad breath. Give her a polo mint now and again, thats also great for wind and a raw carrot two or three times a day is great for digestion - its certainly not her teeth!
Reply:If it is not the typical "puppy breath" take her to the vet for a check up and teeth cleaning.

What are some examples of human service or health care organizations that have never been done?

This is a homework assignment, I have to create. At first I thought free dental clinic (none in my hometown) but they are other places. This is to be an agency created from scratch. I would greatly appreciate any help.

What are some examples of human service or health care organizations that have never been done?
What about having someone to read a book to those in nurseing homes or hospital's. What made me think about this was the long hours spent in nurseing home and hospital last year TV gets old. We have vistors come and spend time with us.

Today we spend to much time watching TV. Remember the time before TV in school the teacher reading books these are the things show us the importance of reading . I want to thank you for asking the question. As I lay there looking at the walls watching the tv I sure would have enjoyed having someone to read to me.
Reply:That is a tough assignment. The basic needs have already been covered such as food, clothes, medical, dental, eye exams and glasses, housing, library. You might have to create an agency that gives free bus passes or free driving instruction!

How long can a cavity wait?

I had a really bad toothache last month and had to go to an emergency dental clinic where I got a huge filling. When I was there, they said I had another 4 cavities needing filled, but they couldn't do it because they only treated emergency cases.

I'm a student at the minute, but start working in August and until then, can't afford to get the work done privately. Do you think it's OK to just leave these cavities until, say, September when I'll have some money? Of the four cavities, only one is causing me any problems at the minute, and it's not too bad, just occasional pain with sweet things. The others give me no problems at all.

How long can a cavity wait?
I'm a registered dental hygienist and there is no way to tell how long a person can hold out w/ getting a filling. I would say if you don't see holes in your teeth when you look in the mirror, you can probally wait til september as long as u are brushing twice a day, everyday, and stay away from cigarettes and Mountain Dew. If u see holes in your teeth, I would get it done ASAP, before u wake up w/ a tooth ache on a Sunday morning or a Holiday when noone is at the office. FYI- If u ever get a toothache DO NOT LAY DOWN. Your blood will rush to your head and cause the tooth to ache even more!!! Good Luck
Reply:Hey, if you can handle the pain, you go ahead and wait!
Reply:i wouldn't wait too much longer. they can get worse pretty quickly and you dont want them to do a root canal, let alone 4.
Reply:Well as long as they aren't causeing you pain you can wait. I understand you can't afford to go now. Try using ACT mouth rinse. That helps cut down on cavities and can stop them from getting worse.
Reply:I had the same problem. I waited 6 months (nov-march). I'm sure it will all be ok but the sooner you have it done the less sensitive the tooth will be when you have the filling.
Reply:Common sense will tell you when the pain is unbearable, you will seek dental help, regardless of your financial situation.

They won't stop hurting, and you do more damage to the tooth by chewing as time goes by, and could need a root canal (not fun) or even an extraction (ouch!).

You will know when you need to take care of this malady.

Best wishes!
Reply:Try PEROXYL mouth rinse. Not overly pleasant but doable.

Also salt water rinses daily after meals %26amp; snacks; Lots of water to keep toxins from accumulating in your system. I am a dental technician who has learned much while creating crowns %26amp; Bridges for patients. You can also find temporary filling material at he local drugstore to help with extreme sensitivty. Try calling small town dentists to see if they can put you on a payment plan. Temporary fillings(medicated) can also be an answer-talk to your dentist. I once had one last for two years. Best wishes %26amp; better health to you!
Reply:By the time the tooth gets painful you are probably going to need a root canal. It's impossible to tell if it can wait until September. If it is a very small cavity then it's possible... if it's large, probably not. Just remember that the cavity will continue to grow until you have it taken care of and could possibly reach the nerve of your tooth

How much does a tooth implant cost in Singapore?

some suggestions on a good dental clinic where implants can be done and how much it costs?

How much does a tooth implant cost in Singapore?
Dental implant and Laser eye surgery is very safe nowadays.

Hope this helps.
Reply:if i remember correctly, a private dentist charge around $1000 for one tooth implant.

perhaps try the NTUC dentist group which are cheaper.

Is McCain great for our military, but deadly for our veterans?, can he change this bad idea?

McCAIN PROMISE WOULD DISMANTLE VA AND PRIVATIZE

VETERANS' HEALTHCARE -- "I'm going to get every one

of our veterans a plastic card to take to their doctor

or healthcare provider to get the care they need."

The story here:

http://www.vawatchdog.org/08/nf08/nfFEB0...

My thought’s here:

The cost of treatment in civilian hospitals is astronomical compared to the VA. Our VA has a great lab, eye clinic, and new state of the art dental clinic that should be open to all veterans for a co-payment. A few procedures are not available at the VA that need to be contracted out, but to put a few million vets into another more expensive already over-burdened system would-be deadly to many. Much of the medication the VA pharmacies’ carry is only used by Veterinarians, the doctors at the VA would have a better success rate using modern medications. I would rather higher co-pay for a medicine that works which allows me to think and function, instead of

Is McCain great for our military, but deadly for our veterans?, can he change this bad idea?
I read the story and share some of your concerns. Though whilst living in Florida my father had to travel from the space coast to the Tampa VA Hospital to get "Specialized treatment". I believe Orlando had one but it wasn't as good as or didn't offer the services that the Tampa VA did. This was about the time that I became enraged about the way our veterans are treated medically. I had no idea until then. The local VA was nothing more than a glorified doctors office. The Tampa VA initially treated my father like he was someone looking for a free room with a cot. After complaining to the area state representative the quality of service improved dramatically. He was initially there for a arterial Bi-pass but the lack of attention postponed them finding the spot on his lung that eventually killed him in august of 2000. "IF" he had a "Plastic Card" he might have still been alive today. Yet I do not completely disagree with you. I feel Veterans should be able to seek private health-care and still be allowed to utilize the current VA system. Creating more options and improving the system all ready in place.

We currently have a 775 Billion dollar surplus. "IF" Bush followed McCain's advice about troop levels we could have saved how many Billions not to mention the largest cost of lives and limbs. Much could be done by McCain to reduce spending. The Department of education could be dissolved and billions could be flooded into schools giving oversight back to the states. Homeland Security is another Bureaucracy that could be revamped saving Billions more. The only reason McCain didn't vote for 2 of the tax cuts was because it didn't include provisions to curtail spending forcing the size of the Federal government to be reduced saving billions more. Now, with a 775 Billion dollar surplus and a presidential candidate calling for streamlining government so much could be done for you and other American heroes such as yourself. Let's face reality of any politician out there, McCain will do the most for our bravest citizens who have sacrificed the most for our freedoms.

I promise to closely monitor this issue for it is of the utmost importance to me and should be as highlighted as the war and the economy!

God Bless You

All I can say is I am disgusted that this issue hasn't been a forefront one since forever. I remember being younger and reagan was touting tax cuts and I was thinking how can you possibly lower taxes whilst our veterans aren't getting the treatment they deserve. I was a teenager at the time. Now I see the benefits of tax cuts and the huge surplus yet our veterans are still neglected. SICKENING!!! We Americans are so selfish and ultimately lust for immediate gratification. We should all, both Republicans , Democrats, and all in between be ashamed!!!
Reply:"I'm going to get every one of our veterans a plastic card to take to their doctor or healthcare provider to get the care they need." I think this quote was taken out of context on the site. I actually think he meant that he wants to improve the system and let you choose the care you recieve by giving us cards for low or no cost healthcare. I don't see this as bad. He is a veteran and he understands the needs for healthcare for those who have served.
Reply:Sounds like a good thing to me. I thnk your perspective is backward--VA is overpriced and overburdened. (Overpriced in that it is subsidized--Service people don't see those costs directly, but it raises prices for healthcare across the board.)

VA is generally wasteful as are most things that are government run. In the private market, we can get better prices and better, faster care.

There's a reason I jump through the extra hoops to keep my wife on our private insurance even while I'm deployed and she's eligible for Tricare.
Reply:I have a few problems with the article. The writer obviously knows little about Tricare yet he tries to make it sound bad and compares VA care to it.

My wife and i have been under tricare fro well over 10 years, we have never had any problems with high Co-pays or finding a Doctor who would accept it. I have had 10 Heart Catherizations and Tricare handled all of them. My total cost for them (not counting the Ambulances) $250. I would say that's not bad.

The only problem we ever had was switching my wife to Tricare for life, bu that's another story.

I hope McCain will do right by the Veterans an I am certain he will do better than the alternatives.
Reply:My Dad goes to the VA hospital in Memphis Tn.But he also has a private Doctor that he See's twice a year.Good thing too, because his private Doctor has found Not once, but on two different occasions the VA doc's had given him medication that was not what he actually needed.

He is forced to see the VA doc's because the many things wrong with him his private insurance want pay all the bills.Which by the way neither does the VA, so, he's kind of caught in a catch 22 as far as getting the help he really needs.

Let's face it,,,the system is not working and our Vet's are paying the price.

What happened to the days when your Doctor cared about you and didn't take advantage of you when you were sick? Some will say it's not the Doc's fault, then who's is it?Why all of a sudden does it cost us 85 to a 100 dollars just for them to tap you on the knee, take your blood pressure and temperature and tell you take this medication and you will be better in a few days. Then you pay 35 to 75 dollars for meds that should have been given to you by injection at your Doc's office.

It's all about the all mighty dollar now,,,not you or your well being. Most Doctors don't give a crap about you,but they will sure let you know if your late on your payment.
Reply:A Vote for McCain is a Vote for 4 more years of Bush Politics..We cannot afford the loss of life and expense.
Reply:I don't know what exactly he did in the military, and it actually makes no difference, just like what Bob Dole did in WW2 makes no difference, in regard to the fact that they are war mongers, neo Ustase and dangerous. I don't understand how a person who has a reputation of a bully, nicknamed McNasty in school, is so popular. Anyway, I hope and pray that he will never ever become president.

Are Dentist Fees Negotionalble?

question to dentists and dental nurse's here,

i'm having a bit of treatment soon on 2 teeth (crown possible implant) and i'm suspecting the quote for this work will leave my leave my pocket feeling slightly empty.

but can you tell me if your dental clinic where you work have set fees or are the prices negotionable (ie:- you quote me 2500 and i say "how about 2000? ") would you take the work on?

merry christmas.

Are Dentist Fees Negotionalble?
Most fees are set on the materials used, the lab fees involved and the time taken.

You could try haggling or asking if they have an easy payment scheme, i.e. spread the payment over several months.
Reply:It's less without anesthetic.
Reply:I think its up to the dentist, some do and some don't. you can ask them if they take payments if so talk to him and tell him this is what you can afford every week ,
Reply:i doubt if you would get much hope of what your suggesting as they have an influx of clients and can pick the cream so dont bet on it

Your advice this time can make my life, Any SMART answers?

I met the MOST beautiful girl I have EVER seen recently. She is a dentist, I met her when I accompanied someone to the dental clinic she works. I talked to her as a doctor and nothing else. She was talking so sweetly. I think she is the best one can imagine.

I know nothing about her except the name, that too because somebody there called her. What should I do? How do I get to meet her without being too obvious as that might spoil the situation. Going back to the clinic with some excuse is not a good idea either, what you think?

Any expert opinion or any smart thing you suggest? Your advice can make my life. Thanks.

Your advice this time can make my life, Any SMART answers?
Hmm....Well my friend....i think all you can do is to go streight to her and the best thing you can do is to talk to her explain that you really like her and you want to meet her sometimes...you know? if you like or love someone...tell them.Coz hearts are often broken by words left unspoken.
Reply:send flowers to her clinic and say you couldn´t stop thinking of her beautiful smile or sthg...

if she liked you, she´ll love it! (i would)

if she didn´t, she´ll think you´re a weirdo... lol

didn´t you get any vibes, any clue??

anyways, if you really liked her, take the risk...
Reply:I think be brave and daring and simply just ask her out on a date, look for a wedding ring first.

You have nothing to loose except dental care, cause there are plenty of other dentists around.
Reply:Go back with that "Someone" you went to the Dentist with and ask your friend to stage that "He" needs his teeth cleaned, then when you guys are there, you suddenly decide that you want a cleaning too since your already there. Then u'd have your most un-obvuse reason to be able to see her again. Besides, people need their teeth cleaned by the Dentist once in a while, once every 2 months I think? More or less...
Reply:Dear, 1st of all try to find whether she is married or not???? If Married... forget her... %26amp;%26amp; if not then get her mobile no... %26amp; offer her for friendship %26amp;%26amp; later on, ask her for anything else..... ''Later on,....Becoz, it may be she involed in arelation with sm1 else.

'''''Just make an effort to make her ur good friend''''

GOOD LUCK!!!!
Reply:You could try asking her secretary were she goes for lunch and 'accidentally' be there when she is there. It would take some coaxing on the part of the secretary to get this information but then you could run into her 'as a person' and not 'as a dentist'
Reply:Call the business and ask to speak to her. Let her know that you are a patient that goes there and you were wondering if she would be interested in going to coffee or lunch. Just tell her the truith. If shes insulted by your honesty then just dont go back there.
Reply:Well since you don't know where else to see her, why not pop in at the clinic when she's there or send her flowers with a note that you would like to have coffee with her?
Reply:ask her for a date... then handle it with confidence.... a date will serve you as the " getting to know each other" ^^

My NHS dentist fitted 2 oversized bridges 1st cracked/lost 2nd broke teeth below. Distraught where do I turn?

After 1st bridge refitted due gum recession, was told to wait a month to affect oversize it only lasted 2 weeks. Asked for implant referral was sent dental hospital on 6 month waiting list were they don’t offer implants and they said referral was for a plate. I had two ill fitting plates made at my dentist due huge loss. I went my dentist again as an abscess remarked on 9 months earlier swelled and caused great pain. I was given the strongest antibiotic made as over years of treatment antibiotics were issued at nearly every occasion. My 2nd bridge was loose and the temporary to final replacement put so much pressure on lower bridge another abscess was created. Shards of the removed bridge were found between my front teeth in the evening. The final fitting was postponed as the bridge was not correct to my dentist’s standards but it was fitted anyway as a temporary to be removed in two weeks. This one fitted well and left the promised correction to other work open. The final fitting was delayed as my dentist had a holiday but it still took an hour and a half of extreme effort to remove, the back of my head was numb for another hour. The bridge was as before oversized and eliminated possible correction to previous work. My panic at its destruction had me call at least six times over many months and despite the previous bridges fitting this one could not be reduced further. A plate was created to even the pressure and be worn while sleeping but when fitting was reduced too much and ineffective. I believed the lower bridge broken as it was loose and becoming worse but I was told not. A last emergency appointment of 3 weeks had me attend the dental clinic as an emergency. I had been waiting since February for an appointment as requested of my dentist but a phone call suggested neither 2 said attempts had been received. I had asked the receptionist if I could attend the hospital without referral she said no. The emergency’ option must have slipped her mind as had the hospital not offering implants though she did state a year later that I couldn’t afford it as reason for subterfuge. The correct implant referral was made after 13 months of my request, the price quadrupled. Decay to the area of the 2nd abscess and pressure to the bridge had broken it. The hospital does implants for car crash victims and extreme cases as a special case I can only hope my luck will change but I am in pain the bridge very loose as is are another three teeth and I need a root canal. My dentist capped every tooth over and over till they fell out. Then the rules changed payment was no longer on work done but on time taken like an hour and a halt to remove a temporary bridge. I have tried to change my dentist but as the shape of my mouth has been lost nobody wanted to know.

My NHS dentist fitted 2 oversized bridges 1st cracked/lost 2nd broke teeth below. Distraught where do I turn?
Unfortunately this is always a risk when you have bridgescrowns ect but they dont normally tell you. I unfortunately also had this problem. I think that you should go back to the same dentist and ask what he can do to help. Other then that you could try private treatment but that will be very expensive

Dentist Overload in US?

Hi. I'm currently a dental student in Japan. In Japan, there is a problem with dentist overload (too many dentist. so many that there are more dental clinic than post office). I was wondering if U.S. have the same problem or not.

Dentist Overload in US?
HELLO,

THERE ARE ONLY 6 DENTAL SCHOOLS IN THE WHOLE COUNTRY. BASED ON WHERE YOU OPEN YOUR PRACTICE HERE, THERE IS AN ACTUAL SHORTAGE OF DENTISTS.
Reply:Depends on the area you practice in. I practice in San Francisco where there are tons! But I am overloaded with patients, some don't have enough. You would probably do well in an area with a high concentration of Japanese (like San Francisco's Japantown) where you are a native speaker and understand concerns better than a dentist that needs translation.

6 dental schools??? Where does doc Al get his info?. We have 2 in San Francisco, 3 in LA, 1 in Nevada, 1 in Colorado and there's Harvard, too... This is a drop in the bucket! There are closer to 40 dental schools in this country

A question about dentists who take on both NHS patients and private patients.?

What I don't understand is if a dentist treats both NHS patients and private patients what is the difference? I am talking here about general dental work (e.g. check-up, scale and polish, fillings) and not any kind of cosmentic work.

If you chose to be a private patient the same dentist is most likely to give you the same treatment as a NHS patients. i.e. spend the same amount of time examing you, give you the same degree of cleaning, give you the same filling. So why do some people choose to be a private patient at a NHS dental clinic. What is the point in paying more money for the same treatment?

A question about dentists who take on both NHS patients and private patients.?
don't be illusion ed by NHS or PRIVATE, they both do exactly the same, its just that private he makes the mega bucks, but doing the same for NHS, they pay what the going rate is on their terms and the time waiting. so it pays them to take on private work as well. That's how a NHS Doctor, maybe the same Doctor doing it on Private work. more money. He may keep you in an extra day or so, at your expence. NHS they are quick to turf you out the door to save them the money.
Reply:The problem is that finding a dentist to take you as an NHS patient can be like hunt a need le in a haystack! They are few and far between and those that do take NHS have a long waiting list usually. So its often easier to go private and get taken in at the first dentist you visit. I have never heard of a private patient being turned away;
Reply:people dont choose to go private in an NHS surgery its the rules basically if u work u pay, if ur on benefits then u get ur treatment for free
Reply:well i went because i know he was a good dentist as i had the dentist as a child, but im not on the nhs list anymore and figured as i cant get on one (nhs dentist that is) i would carry on going to a dentist i know, even though it not nhs prices
Reply:You have to go private if you don't qualify for NHS treatment.
Reply:They won't treat you the same. My wife was told blah was the scale/polish she would get and this type of filling, but if she had that particular treatment done privately they would use different products, and spend more time.

Some practices that do both, close their NHS list at a certain length, then you have to go private to get seen.
Reply:you pay the extra for priority treatment , an NHS patient rolling around on the floor in chronic pain will be ignored in favour of a private patient wanting a polish up !
Reply:the only difference is the cost and with nhs you get put on a waiting list, where private you get a fairly quick appt.
Reply:I guess paying for private care (whether it be the dentist or hospital) your paying for the extra little details, more comfort, piece of mind that if you do have a emergency then you will get an appointment.

Like someone below said they will use better materials and spend longer dealing with you as your paying the extra.
Reply:I cant speak for other dentists but I certainly do spend more time with my private patients. I dont necessarily spend the same amount of time treating them but I do give them longer and priority appointment which means I dont feel rushed and have time to concentrate on what I'm doing. It also gives more time to chat to the patient and let them know whats going on. Its a more personal service and puts patients at ease.

Also, I absolutely use higher quality and more expensive materials when treating my private patients. Im sure not all dentists do this but all my friends and colleagues have seperate materials for NHS and private patients. At the end of the day, the patient is paying the full cost and so should get the best quality treatment possible.

You mention time spent actually treating a patient. If you were a paying private customer, would you like to be drilled for a longer time just so that you thought you were getting value for money? I dont think so. If anything, a private patient should have a speedy treatment at the highest possible standard.
Reply:Private patients get better treatment. For example where I work if a private patient wants to come in at a certain time and NHS patients have been booked for this time, the NHS patient will be cancelled so as the private patient can be seen. The materials we use on private patients is better quality and also the time spent on a normal check up is longer. I have worked at 3 dental practices who have all performed in this way
Reply:there are different types of filling i.e gold, which are obv going be more expensive than the bog-standard type so why would the govt. fund for that?

if you're a private patient there's a lot more choice in thre treatment available.

if you want to prove a dentist spends more time with private patients than NHS ones why don't you ask a dentist who treats both?

Can 'permanent' porcelain veneers be replaced? Is it difficult to detach the veneer? How is it done?

I had 4 veneers placed. They look more yellow then my front 2 teeth. My front 2 teeth are naturally quite white. I have had a nightmare dentist and he had no artistic eye. He even chipped the permanent veneers. The dentist is now complete and I want to go to another dental clinic and have completely new veneers done. My question is how difficult it will be for the dentist to remove the veneers? Also will it cause trauma to my teeth?

Thanks.....

Please make sure that you speak to other patients of the dentist before doing any dental procedures. It is unfortunate when one is at the mercy of a dentist ......

its quite easy to remove and replace them.. the dentist will just cut a fissure in the middle and then break it off the tooth using something looking like a screwdriver. it wont break the tooth... the cement is less strong and will break before the tooth.

Dentist Teeth Whitening?

So I really don't have any experience in this kind of thing, so you guys are going to have to answer my question like I was in grade 2.

So I decided to get my Teeth Whitened from the Dentist, but I don't really know how I can make an appointment, or anything of that sort. So I'm going to need step by step directions on what to do!

For Example:

1. First of all, what am I even looking for? A dental office? A dental clinic? I don't even know what it's called.

2. How do I find a phone number or address for this kind of thing.

3. How do I make an appointment.

and so on.

Thanks in advance for all the answers! (I know, I'm an idiot~)

Dentist Teeth Whitening?
I would start by asking people you know what dentist they go to, unless you don't want anyone to know you are thinking on whitening your teeth. Then, look in the yellow pages for DENTISTS. Most dental offices can do teeth whitening. If you live in a metro area there are probably hundreds to pick from. If you want to narrow your search look for Cosmetic Dentistry, but any general dental office with hygienists should be able to provide that service. Once you find the dental listings, just start with calling any one of them. Be up front and tell them you are a new patient and you have questions regarding teeth whitening, the steps involved, and more importantly, ask how much it will cost. Generally, in the dental office, the first appointment will start with an exam. They may want to schedule a cleaning (prophylaxis) before doing any whitening. The steps usually involve impressions to make a tray that fits your teeth exactly and then providing you with tubes or syringes with the whitening material that you will place in the tray and wear over night. There may be a weeks worth in a kit. There may be some more advanced techniques but they will certainly cost more. Insurance companies do not pay for teeth whitening.

Some of the over-the-counter teeth whitening strips work pretty well. You want to be careful though of the coverage area because you don't want to get the whitening material on your gums for any great length of time. Check the ingredients and the procedure. One, other thing. If you have any composite fillings (white colored fillings) or porcelain crowns, the whitening material doesn't work on those. Good luck.
Reply:yea, and how much does it cost?
Reply:Just call your local dentist office and tell them! They can do it in the office($450.) or sell you the kit (crest white) around $60. An evaluation should be done on the enamel and how strong/sensitive your teeth are, but that's about it. Smile pretty!!

Can i save my teeth?

i recently went to a dental clinic for people who cant afford dental care and the denist there told me 3 of my upper teeth or to bad to save i guess they dont do root work it i hhave a few already gone on my upper jaw on both sides and some gone on my bottom he says we can save the bottom teeth just a few cavities he said lets just pull all the upper ones even most can be saved so you wont have to replace a partial later down the road i found it odd he didnt give me any info on root canels when is to late for that? they dont hurt but i do have some big holes in some and it feels like two of them are half gone but the ones he says cant be saved dont have holes in them they just feel a little week any way again when is to late to save them with root work and i think i should find another denist because i wasnt saving much there

Can i save my teeth?
well,if you can try to find another doctor and get your root canals. they're not fun in the least, just to let you kow.

if you go to the doctor and he says it's too late to save them,

that's when it's too late %26amp; you have to get them pulled, pray that they're not infected.

if they are infected, it'll hurt REALLY bad to get them out,

but I guess it's worth it. it teaches you to take care of them.
Reply:Go see another dentist - find another clinic, or call a local university that has a dental program, as they often have dental clinics. I would NEVER tell a dentist just off the cuff to yank my teeth. I would want a second opinion, because once your teeth are out, that's it. If you do nothing right now you will keep your teeth at least that much longer, and if they can be saved, that's a good thing.
Reply:If you have low income, you may be eligible for government help to pay for medical/dental care.

To find out, contact the Social / Human Services office in your county.
Reply:docs will pull teeth when you cant afford to have them fixed.. also he may think that they are too far gone (rotted) to fit.. if your enamel is gone ( to much of it) caps wont work and your roots are probably to far gone to fix.(roots are dead.)...

Very bad teath?

I am 23 and last time I checked I needed all my top teath pulled and needed dentures that was when I was 19. I am so tired of people thinking I do METH. I know what you all are thinking but I have never touched the stuff. When I was little my mom did not make me brush my teath and only took me to the dentist when something hurt. I know have three of my front teath are broken below the gum line on top and I maybee have only 5 non broken teath on top. I am writing because I am very low income and I need to get this fixed. The dental clinic for low income familys charge more to remove a tooth then the reg clinics ( why that is I do not know).and they have a 5 year waiting list for dentures. So that is out of the question I would rather have some teeth then none. What can I do or were can i go. NO dentist here in my small town will see any one with out payment upfront. I have tried Social Sercices and due to my age they can not help me.

PLease help me I want to be pritty

Very bad teath?
Bless your heart! Is there a Dental College anywhere near where you live? They are always looking for people to 'practice' on and the charge is minimal. God bless!
Reply:wow you poor thing, look this is gonna sound nuts but i needed to get a tooth pulled and didn't have the money that the dentist over here were asking so my mom had gone to TJ, Mexico for her dentures...hers came out beautiful...and they pulled my tooth for $50 and no complications, the dentist went to scholl here in the States but practices in TJ....look into it it's not as bad as it seems
Reply:listen to graciegir advice.. great idea.. implants are good but expensive... find out also if there are any dentist who can do the job pro bono,, send letters to diffrent doctors and maybe one or a team of them can make a difference... keep on trying..
Reply:try a dental college, or http://everyonebenefits.com/40436527 it's only $11.95 per month

Have you tried going to abroad for treatment, it will be better and cheaper. Not sure which country, India may be best.

What are the ramifications of a chronic infection in the sinus because of a perforation from a root canal?

My friend Al may fall very sick if he is not attended to immediately but there is no doctor who wants to attend to him in an ethical fashion because of fear of being implicated in a malpractice and obstruction of justice. Can we help him? This is both a legal and medical matter.

Al, who is a citizen of Canada, has been suffering in his own country from the effects of an apparent malpractice case which he wants to make against the University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver. This is what happened:

He went innocently to the Reach Dental Clinic in Vancouver, which is a clinic in its own right but also allows students to practice there.

All Al wanted was to get a filling replaced. However, he came out of there with a root canal, unbeknownst to him, and to top it, the student who 'performed' this root canal did it wrongly and injured him for life.

Here is the address of the blog where we are building up the questions that affect Al::

Need estimate costs for crown, root canal & crown lengthening?

I live in Los Angeles. I went to my dentist this week %26amp; had 2 root canals (teeth #20 %26amp;21) done. I was charged $460 for each root canal and $ 670 for each crown. Since I needed crown lengthening for my tooth # 20, I have to pay for another $650. Besides this, I need to have deep cleaning before having the crown lengthening which will cost me for another $850 (antibact included). I don't have dental insurance although they offer 1 year interest free financing. If I could run from that dental clinic %26amp; not go back but I had no choice because of my dreaded toothache. I wanted to have my tooth extracted so I won't have to pay this much. But they wanted to save my tooth. Did the dentist charge me too much? help... serious answers please. Thank you!

Need estimate costs for crown, root canal %26amp; crown lengthening?
Those fees sound pretty average for a private-practice dentist.

If money is an issue, how about going to one of the three dental schools in the LA area? UCLA, USC and Loma Linda all have dental schools, and their fees are about half what a private dentist charges. You do have to give up more time though, since a dental student has to ask an instructor dentist to check each step of the work he is doing.

As far as whether or not saving those teeth is worth it, keep in mind #20 and #21 are near the front of your bottom jaw (the pre-molars). You can have them extracted, but that may leave an unsightly gap. Also, extracted teeth may cause situations such as spaces opening up between your remaining teeth or the opposing teeth on the other arch rising out of their sockets once they have nothing to bite against, and would end up costing you even more money to fix in the future.

Replacing missing teeth (especially those that leave unsightly gaps near the front) costs money too-- partial dentures, bridges, implants. You can have your #20 and #21 extracted, but you should make an informed decision rather than believing some drivel about how dentists "don't make money on extractions."

Hope this helps, and good luck.
Reply:I had a tooth pulled years ago and it cost me $25 but last time I went to the dentist he sent me to an oral surgeon who wanted $350 to pull it. I shopped around and finally found a dentist that would do it for $75 and fortunately I still have the rest of my teeth.

Dentists are getting lots of big bucks these days.

What a rip off. The only thing they wanted to extract is the money from your pocket. Dentist don't make money on extractions, they make it on all the other BS that they talk you into. You could have gotten the extraction and then bought a Plasma TV.

It all sounds very dodgy! Suggest you contact the Dental Practice board and the AVMA (Action for the Victims of Medical Accidents) for further advice.
