Dental Clinic?

Can I open a dental clinic? I'm not a dentist, but I would like to starta business, so I was thinking of open a dental clinic, with about 10 chairs in the place, and either rent the space to some dentist, or charge a percentage of the sales. Is it possible to do that or do I need to be a dentist to open a dental clinic? and why I'm looking to open a dental clinic? it's because my GF is in college and she will be a dentist, so I would like to have the business going now for her later. Any help it would be great.

Dental Clinic?
In the United States, it is illegal for a person who is not a dentist to open and own a dental office. Places like Aspendental actually have a dentist who is the corporate majority shareholder.

If you want to help your girlfriend, you should invest your money and let it grow while she is in dental school, and go work for a dental office as a front-desk person, so you can learn how to deal with insurance, billing and office management.

After she finishes dental school, you can help her open an office and help run the place as the office manager (but she as the dentist must be the owner).

Hope this helps.
Reply:wait until she finishes school you or her are not certified and you would be shut down for it and it would be difficult to get another one so just wait
Reply:It depends on the state but most states have laws which disallow nondentists owning clinics. The reason is because they can influence the dentists and their judgements. Each dentist is individually licensed and must make their own professional judgment, that's why malpractice insurance is on the dentist themselves.

Opening up a clinic is not very profitable. The profit margins are low. If you hire dentists, most of the profit will go to them leaving you with less.

Your best bet is to invest somewhere else.
