Hi, I where can someone with little or no dental insurance find a dentist who will help them?

the person is too old to get dental insurance from parents but still young. due to a medical problem she didnt know she had and then the treatment for it her teeth are in horrible shape and shes in a lot of pain. her saliva glands are messed up too from the treatment of her medical problem which made her teeth worse. all the dentists she tried to go to will not work with her about payments because even with insurance the dentist wont let her make reasonable payments to where she can still afford to live. the sliding scale clinics dont do the work that she needs done. thanks for any suggestions. it is very sad to me that they wont help her and would rather see her in pain than to work with affordable payments

Try to locate a dental college. They will often have their senior students do free work (with supervision, of course) in order for them to get experience.
Reply:with no insurence you wont find a dentist to pay out unelss there is good credit then you can apply to pay in installment like a credit card. you can also try to find a dental college there is usually a long wait but it is still cheaper some time free if you can prove you cant pay. There is one is Dallas,TX at Baylor college. you could go to a dr. complaining fo a ear infection/sinus infection and you may get an antibotic if the infection is gone then the pain will be to but only temporarly. hope these suggestions help
Reply:capitalone.com has a medical payment loan program
Reply:Hello,

I'm not exactly sure who you are talking about when you use the term "Sliding Scale Clinics"...so If my suggestions point you in the direction of one of those, I apologize in advance. First, if there is a Dental College near you it will have an "Out Patient Clinic" and it provides dental services between Free and very low cost, depending on the patients financial situation. The service would be good and the cost reasonable. However, if that doesn't work for you, you should call the local hospitals in your area and find out if they have a Out Patient Dental Clinic that is staffed by Dentist doing a Dental Internship in the hospital. Those facilities usually provide dental services at Free to low cost. Finally, check with what ever dentist you want to use and ask if they can set you up through the "Credit Care" company. That is a company that finances health procedures and if you pay the balance within 12 months, there are "no" finance interest fees. Good luck and I wish you well.
Reply:Hi,

Your best bet will be a discount dental program. They will save you up to 80% off on these health services and there is no waiting period... it's immediate benefits. No deductibles, no limits, no copays and includes all ongoing conditions. There is no age limit, and is only 19.95 a month.

Check this website out and see if this would be something you would be interested in getting. It's for people without insurance.

Reply:See if there is a United Cerebral Palsy Association near her. They have a dental clinic and offer sliding fees for those who qualify.......... and it sounds like your friend just might.

Good luck!

Reply:Call your local dental society. Most states have them. Some cities and counties have them, as well. They can give you the names of dentists and organization that will provide free, low-cost or sliding scale fee services. If you can't find yours, contact the American Dental Association or use your search engine.
