To dr. sam thank you for your information re dental abroad I am trying todo as much research as possible?

I have been checking companies that run travel dental care to eastern europe I have found one that I am pretty interested in that has had features done in two major newspapers and on t.v. in fact one reporter of one of the newspapers had his own dental work done there and was very impressed. Before I would have any work done I would fly over and inspect the clinic and chck the dental authority to make sure I got all information regarding their history. their website is www.kreativdent.co.uk and has a british dental representive Ian Domville B Ch D maybe you would have a look at this website and let me know what you think I would be grateful for your opinion thanking you denise

All I can say is what I have said all along. If you can afford to travel to Hungary for your care, can't you afford to have it done in the US? (Perhaps you are not in the US, but nobody from UK seems to be asking these questions.) I know that a round trip will cost you over $1,000. Two trips, which you would need in order to inspect the place is goingto cost over $2,000. A half-decent hotel will cost $30-50 a day. How much are you really going to save?

Will you go back for follow-up care?

The web site looks very polished and professional. So I can say that they have hired very polished and professional web site designers and that's all I can really say.

The last I knew, the Euro was about US$1.27. Many of the fees I see are NOT cheap. SOME of them are higher than my OWN fees. I wonder if they use the technique used by so many HMO dentists in the US by saying that you NEED expensive perio treatment, which is one of their higher fees, or they can not proceed with the restorative phase.

Root canals are cheap, but I'd bet a nickel that they are using a non-FDA approved paste filler, which is the predominant technique used in Europe. The failure rate is over 20%.

I admit that the prosthetic fees are relatively cheap. You can save about $300 per crown in this clinic from an average American fee. Still, you would need 7 or 8 crowns to make up this difference.

My final word on this is that the dollars may make sense if that is all you are concerned about. You would have no clue how to determine if the services were up to your own expectations by a tour for inspection. Of course, they will show you nothing but the best and you won't really be able to evaluate it anyhow. Neither you nor I have any basis for judging the quality of care after visiting this web site. If you are satisfied with the track record that they show you, may God bless you with a safe journey and good luck.
